How to Use Your Keefrash E-Ink Phone Case
Refresh your E-Ink cover in three simple steps — no battery, no cables, just NFC.
Before you start

Check your iPhone model
Make sure your iPhone model is listed on the product page as compatible with Keefrash.

Remove metal accessories and anything in between
Remove metal bumpers or magnetic mounts, and make sure nothing (such as paper or a card) is between your iPhone and the case.

Enable NFC on your iPhone
On iPhone 13 and later, NFC is enabled by default. If you previously removed the NFC Tag Reader, go to Settings → Control Center → add “NFC Tag Reader” to ensure NFC works properly.

Step 2 · Choose or upload an image
Select a photo, illustration, or one of the preset templates, then crop and preview.

Step 3 · Refresh with a tap 'Projection'
Within 10–15 seconds, the image will be written to the E-Ink display and stays on without a battery.

Frequently asked questions
What kind of images look best on the display?
Keefrash’s E-Ink screen supports four colors: black, white, red, and yellow. Images that are closer to these four tones will produce the best visual results. High-contrast images with clear outlines and distinct color blocks tend to display the most beautifully.
Do I need to charge the case?
No. The case is powered by your phone’s NFC only during refresh. The image stays on the E-Ink screen without any battery.
Troubleshooting
I tapped "Projection" in the app, but the case didn't change.
Make sure your iPhone is fully seated in the case and there is nothing between them, such as paper or a card. Then tap "Projection" again.
Refreshing works sometimes but not always.
Keep the Keefrash app open until your iPhone's NFC prompt finishes. Pressing the side button or receiving a call will stop the update — just tap "Projection" again.
